    Abstract

    The delegation of the Republic of Korea proposes to amend CCAMLR Conservation Measure (CM) 10-02 to make it mandatory for vessels operate in the CCAMLR Convention Area to keep Automatic Identification Systems (AIS) switched on at all times while in the Area to prevent any collision incident and thereby ensuring safety. The revision also allows for the switching off of AIS under extraordinary circumstances with certain reporting conditions.
