    Review of data collected during a range of vessel activities, speeds and weather conditions to assess more fully the quality and utility of acoustic data from commercial fishing vessels.

    3     Protocols for data collection and analysis, with emphasis on Simrad echosounders (EK60, ES60/70)

    3.1.1     Validation of instrument performance

    Internal testing and external reference target, with focus on the role of seabed as reference target for individual and inter-ship calibration, taking into account of inputs from fishing vessel masters.
