Abstract

Considering the on-going of efforts of CCAMLR to improve CCAMLR's MCS regime, particularly transshipment management, and Members' commitment to this end, the Republic of Korea and ASOC propose to host an informal, online workshop in January 2024 to develop objectives for strengthening CCAMLR’s compliance regime, with a focus on transshipment, but also including other compliance issues such as VMS, observers, and fishery notifications. To ensure that a wide range of perspectives are represented, the workshop is open to all CCAMLR Members, and Observers including industry stakeholders. It is hoped that open discussions will lead to the development of shared objectives that will allow CCAMLR to further refine its compliance regime.
